The Program
Brainy Alley
is designed to challenge each child into exploring several approaches to
problem solving and presenting solutions. Brainy Alley encourages
persistence in the search for more than one solution to any problem, and
demands mutual respect among all children.
All activities promote can-do attitudes, cooperation and networking
among the children. These different critical skill sets are formed as
children are encouraged to help and critique each other positively.
Every class includes a “phrase of the day”, a zany vocabulary challenge,
an improv skit and a building activity based on a theme. These
activities form the three different parts to every class and are called
Expressways, Creative Licenses and Construction Zones and used for
program development, not for student use. Brainy Alley
fosters these different presentation styles so that each child has
opportunities to express themselves in many different ways.
